Bacteriophage

Imagine you're hosting a party, and an uninvited guest sneaks in and starts eating all the snacks. This scenario is similar to how bacteriophages, viruses that infect bacteria, operate within a bacterial community. Just as the uninvited guest infiltrates your party and consumes the food meant for your guests, a bacteriophage invades a bacterial cell and uses its resources to replicate, eventually overwhelming the bacteria.
