Phylogeny explained in an easy to understand way:
Imagine trying to trace your family tree to understand where you came from and how you're related to distant cousins. This is similar to phylogeny, which traces the evolutionary history of an organism and its related species. Just as you would map out your lineage by identifying parents, grandparents, and so on, phylogeny maps out the "family tree" of organisms, showing how species are related through common ancestors and evolutionary paths.
