Imagine you're in a crowded elevator where everyone is trying to squeeze in as the doors close. This situation is similar to the concept of compression in a wave, where particles are pushed closely together. Just like how people in the elevator are packed tightly into a confined space, in a compression of a wave, particles are bunched up, resulting in a region of high pressure within the wave.
