Exocytosis Definition

Imagine trying to get rid of a big bag of trash from your house. Just like how you take that trash bag to the curb for pickup, a cell uses exocytosis to move waste materials out of itself. In this analogy, your house is like the cell, the trash bag is like the vesicle, and taking it to the curb is comparable to the cell's vesicle merging with the cell membrane to release its contents outside.
