Just like how you act as the messenger carrying invitations from your home to various destinations, an artery functions by transporting blood away from the heart to different parts of the body. In this analogy, your house is the heart, the invitations are the blood, and your friends' houses are the organs and tissues that need the oxygen and nutrients carried by the blood.
